A Mountain Peak in the Kyrgyz Republic Named "Peak of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation"
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the SCO, one of the mountain peaks of the Kyrgyz Republic has been given the geographical name "Peak of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation."
According to the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic of 29 August 2026, the name has been assigned to a mountain peak with an altitude of 4,050 metres, located in the Ala-Archa State Natural Park in the Alamüdün District of Chüy Region.
On the sidelines of the Bishkek SCO Summit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubayev, presented SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev with a certificate confirming the assignment of the geographical name "Peak of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation" to the summit.
It was noted that the SCO Peak will become a symbol of friendship among peoples, as well as of the aspiration for peace, development and prosperity.
