Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets with Euronews Chairman and Delivers Keynote Address at Euronews VIP Dinner during World Economic Forum 2026
On 20 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Pedro Vargas David, Chairman of Euronews, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. The Foreign Minister discussed potential collaboration with Euronews, as a leading global media, and exchanged views on regional and international issues.
Furthermore, the Foreign Minister delivered a keynote address at the Euronews VIP Dinner, addressing the increasing significance of the Global South in today's international landscape amid shifting geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics. He emphasised the green transition as a strategic opportunity for developing countries to align their economies with international standards. The green transition also serves a core pillar for strengthening regional and South-South cooperation, enabling developing countries to help shape a more balanced global order and more inclusive and resilient global economy. The Minister also reaffirmed Thailand's leadership in driving the green transition, including by accelerating its Net-Zero emissions target by 15 years to 2050.
