SCAM ALERT: Illegal Operation Impersonating Licensed Marijuana Dispensary

The Delaware Division of Alcohol & Tobacco Enforcement (DATE) is alerting the public to a fraudulent marijuana operation targeting University of Delaware students and Newark residents. DATE has received reports of counterfeit business cards and flyers being distributed in the Newark area. These materials falsely claim to represent Fresh Delaware, a legitimate marijuana business. The impostors are attempting to mislead potential customers into purchasing marijuana products illegally. The public needs to know that no licensed marijuana dispensary in Delaware is permitted to deliver marijuana or marijuana products. Any business claiming to offer delivery services is operating illegally. Delaware's adult-use marijuana marketplace includes strict regulations and testing standards designed to ensure consumer safety. Products sold through illegal channels bypass these safeguards and may contain dangerous contaminants such as mold, pesticides, or heavy metals. DATE's Marijuana Enforcement Unit is actively investigating this matter and encourages anyone with information about these fraudulent materials to come forward.
