Premier joined more than 40 organizations in a letter endorsing the Chronic Care Management Improvement Act of 2026, legislation aimed at expanding access to care coordination services for Medicare beneficiaries with chronic conditions. Introduced by Reps. Suzan DelBene (D-WA) and Mike Kelly (R-PA), the bill would eliminate beneficiary cost-sharing for Chronic Care Management (CCM) services, which currently require a 20 percent coinsurance.

In the letter, the organizations highlighted that CCM services - such as care coordination, electronic care planning, and managing care transitions - have been linked to improved patient outcomes and lower overall Medicare spending. Despite these benefits, uptake remains limited, with only a small share of eligible beneficiaries receiving CCM services, largely due to cost-sharing barriers. The groups urged Congress to waive the coinsurance requirement to improve access to coordinated care for chronically ill patients.
