Mr. Attaf meets his Congolese counterpart in New York

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf held bilateral talks with several of his counterparts from brotherly countries in New York on Saturday, as part of his participation in the High-level Week of the 79th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

Mr Attaf held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Ramadan Mohamed Abdallah Gok.

The meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo was devoted to developments in the crisis in the eastern region of this sister country, and efforts to resolve it by peaceful means under the Security Council's approach.

The two parties also examined the prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation, and exchanged views on issues discussed within the AU.
