Chinese Embassy in Norway Holds Film Reception Celebrating the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women and the 30th Anniversary of Beijing World Conference on Women

On Oct. 28th , the Chinese Embassy in Norway held a film reception celebrating the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women and the 30th anniversary of Beijing World Conference on Women. The event featured the screening of Lovable, a women-themed Norwegian film which took home multiple awards at the 15th Beijing International Film Festival. Over 200 guests, including the film director and her crew, women representatives as well as friends from different sectors attended the event.

Ambassador Hou Yue stated that women have always taken center stage in human progress. Over the past 30 years, China has made steady progress in women's development, while the global cause for women has also flourished. Two weeks ago, President Xi  put forward four proposals in the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, providing new guidance for advancing women's cause around the world. Woman across the world have a shared destiny and each of them is part of the era's story. China stands ready to work with all nations to carry forward the spirit of Beijing World Conference on Women and usher in new chapters of global women's causes.

The guests at the reception spoke highly of the film and expressed the desire to build broader consensus for development of women's causes around the world.
