Applications for the 2026 Richardson Citizens Academy & Resource Education Series (Richardson CARES) close Friday, July 31.
The free, eight-week program provides an inside look at City services and operations. Participants meet City staff, visit municipal facilities and learn about areas including public safety, utilities, parks, infrastructure and City administration.
The program is open to Richardson community stakeholders age 18 and older. Class size is limited to 25 participants, and applicants should review the full schedule before applying.
Classes will meet Thursdays from 5:30-9 p.m., Sept. 3-Oct. 22, at various City facilities. Participants are expected to attend at least 80% of the sessions. An optional project tour is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, and the graduation ceremony will take place Monday, Oct. 26.
