Closures start Oct. 20 for Allen Road bridge maintenance over I-69

PORT HURON, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be performing critical maintenance on Allen Road over I-69, requiring lane closures. While repainting the bridge earlier in the summer, crews found a crack in one of the bridge beams.

County:
St Clair

Highway:
I-69

Closest community:
Port Huron

Start date:
Monday, Oct. 20, 2025

Estimated end date:
Friday, Nov. 7, 2025

Traffic restrictions:
One lane of westbound I-69 will be closed for the duration of the project. One alternating lane of traffic will be open at all times on Allen Road during the work, with traffic maintained via a portable traffic signal.

Safety benefit:
This work will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge. Closing lanes on I-69 and Allen Road is necessary to allow crews to safely perform the work.
