Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs meets with the Ambassador of Switzerland to Thailand

On 5 February 2026, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Pedro Zwahlen, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Thailand, to discuss Switzerland's 2026 Chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and developments in the region.

The Ambassador shared Switzerland's priorities for its 2026 OSCE Chairpersonship, focusing on upholding the Helsinki Principles - OSCE's core principles, inclusive multilateral diplomacy, anticipating technologies, reinforcing democracy, rule of law and human rights and ensuring the OSCE's ability to act. The Permanent Secretary reaffirmed its support for Switzerland's Chairpersonship and emphasized cooperation under the Partner for Cooperation framework, including Thailand and Finland's co-chairmanship of the OSCE Asian Conference 2026. They also discussed developments of the Thailand - Cambodia border situation.
