At its meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections approved a change in the polling location for voters in Precinct 7A to the ACC Library for the summer election dates. After the summer elections, the Board of Elections will consider whether to make the change permanent at the library or at an alternative location.
For the June 17, 2025, Special Primary / Special Election and the July runoff, voters in Precinct 7A will vote on Election Day at the Athens-Clarke County Library, located at 2025 Baxter Street. The location is also the voting location for voters in Precinct 7B.
The former location for Precinct 7A voters was Timothy Baptist Church, located at 380 Timothy Road, Athens, GA 30606. The church recently requested changing the polling location from its facility to a new site.
Athens-Clarke County voting districts and precincts will not change as part of this process, only the polling place at which voters in Precinct 7A would vote if they vote in-person on Election Day.
All voters affected by this change will be issued a new precinct card in the mail with the updated polling location.
The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections & Voter Registration will consider public input regarding the change at its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Athens-Clarke County Facilities and Landscape Building, 2555 Lexington Road in Athens, 4:30 PM. Any comments on the proposed change may also be made in writing to the Athens-Clarke County Elections Department, PO Box 1828, Athens, GA 30603.
