Thank you, Mr. Chairman, Ranking Member Shaheen, and distinguished colleagues.
I am proud to introduce a nominee who is uniquely qualified to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to India: Sergio Gor.
Sergio is a proven leader across business and media, and as a senior staffer in the Senate.
On top of all of this, Sergio has delivered results in one of the toughest and highest-stakes arenas in Washington: The White House's Presidential Personnel Office.
At PPO, Sergio helped set a record-setting pace for hiring.
He staffed nearly 4,000 key roles across government, including over 1,000 appointments on Day One of the administration.
That didn't happen by accident.
It took vision, discipline, and a relentless work ethic.
But beyond the resume, Sergio Gor has something that no resume can teach: the complete trust of President Donald J. Trump.
Sergio has stood by the President's side as a loyal and trusted advisor.
He has helped shape key strategies, delivered tough messages, and ensured that the America First agenda is not just a slogan, but a governing reality.
President Trump has called him "a great friend, and someone I trust completely to deliver for the American people."
Our relationship with India is now more important than ever-on issues like trade, technology, defense, and regional stability.
At this critical time, we need someone who speaks with clarity, acts with conviction, and has a direct line to the President of the United States.
Sergio Gor is that person.
When he speaks, New Delhi will know he speaks not just for the State Department, but for the President himself.
I strongly urge my colleagues to support his nomination.
