FATF to host webinar on Promoting Financial Inclusion through Risk-based Approach to AML/CFT

Paris, 31 October 2025 - Next month, the FATF will hold a webinar on financial inclusion to strengthen countries' understanding of how to adopt proportionate and risk-based approaches to tackling illicit finance.

Earlier this year, the FATF strengthened Recommendation 1 of its Standards, to better promote financial inclusion through increased focus on proportionality and simplified measures under the risk-based approach.


\r\n

The FATF also published new Guidance on Financial Inclusion and Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Measures (AML/CFT), including practical case studies and best practices from around the world.

\r\n

This webinar aims to delve deeper into the updated Standards and Guidance, to help shed light on how we can bring more people into the formal financial sector.

Experts from the FATF Global Network, financial inclusion stakeholders, and the private sector will share:

  • An explanation of the changes in the strengthened FATF Standards and updated FATF Guidance on Financial Inclusion and AML/CFT Measures.
