Rep. David Wilkerson Congratulates Cobb County Legislative Delegation Appointees to Local Boards

ATLANTA - State Representative David Wilkerson (D-Powder Springs), chairman of the Cobb County Legislative Delegation, today congratulates the newest appointees selected by the Cobb County Legislative Delegation to serve on local boards, praising their dedication to public service and commitment to the Cobb County community.

"I am proud to congratulate Kendall Watkins, Reginald Turner and Dan Buyers on their appointments to vital local boards that directly impact the lives of Cobb residents," said Rep. Wilkerson. "Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to integrity and service. I look forward to seeing the positive contributions that they will make in their respective roles."

Kendall Watkins has been appointed to the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration. Rep. Wilkerson notes that Ms. Watkins brings an understanding of the electoral process from years of involvement as a poll worker and an official poll monitor. She has also contributed to bipartisan voter education and registration efforts.

Rep. Wilkerson also highlights Reginald Turner, who joined the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration, bringing a background in collaborative leadership, project management and civic engagement. A U.S. Army veteran and community leader, Mr. Turner serves on the Cobb County Advisory Board for the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta and the Alumni Board of Directors for Georgia College and State University.

Dan Buyers has been reappointed to the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, a role he has held since 2013. A partner with McWhirter Realty Partners, Mr. Buyers is active in the Cobb County community and serves on numerous local boards. Rep. Wilkerson emphasizes that his continued service reflects a commitment to ensuring responsible stewardship of the county's water resources.

"These appointments reflect the Cobb Delegation's shared commitment to placing dedicated, experienced individuals in positions where they can have a meaningful impact," added Rep. Wilkerson. "Kendall, Reggie and Dan each represent the best of Cobb County, and I thank them for their willingness to serve."

Rep. Wilkerson also praises the delegation for its community-focused selection process, ensuring that appointees reflect the diversity and values of the county.

Representative David Wilkerson represents the citizens of District 38, which includes a portion of Cobb County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves on the Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Education, Judiciary Juvenile and Retirement committees.
