Samsara and Northland Insurance partner to help reduce premiums and improve fleet safety

Today, I'm excited to announce that Samsara is partnering with Northland Insurance to combine specialized insurance coverage with real-time telematics insights to further improve fleet safety. As part of this partnership, Samsara and the Northland Insurance Telematics Partner Program have launched a turnkey integrationdesigned to help fleets proactively manage risk, reduce claims, and improve overall safety.

As a Samsara partner, qualifying Northland customers will receive a subsidy of up to $300 annually per vehicle to use towards a Samsara AI Dash Cam purchase, or receive a 10% insurance premium discount, depending on program eligibility. Eligible customers will also benefit from tailored insurance coverage, streamlined claims processes, and reliable fleet monitoring.

Enhanced driver safety, lower costs.

Commercial truck drivers face challenging and often dangerous working conditions, from managing long hours and remote routes to navigating inclement weather-all while playing a critical role in powering the global supply chain. Ensuring employees return home safely each day is a top priority for any commercial fleet, with 62% of fleet managersciting safe vehicle operation as their main concern.

To address these concerns, organizations rely on advanced telematics and AI-based video solutions to alert drivers of risky behavior in real time, such as drowsiness, speeding, or tailgating. This technology helps prevent road incidents before they occur. In fact, Samsara estimates that its technology has helped prevent over 200,000 crashes in one year alone.
