Online service issues update

We are continuing to experience issues affecting our websites (including Leisure and Culture Dundee), external email and some online council services.

We have now identified that this is cyber-related disruption involving a third party, similar to recent incidents which have affected a number of public sector bodies around the country.

This is what is known as a Distributed Denial-of-Service or DDoS incident, which in essence is an attempt to disrupt our online services by overwhelming them with a flood of internet traffic.

At present there is no indication of compromise to internal Council systems, user accounts or core infrastructure.

Anyone urgently requiring a Council service which is unavailable during this temporary outage online can contact our Customer Service team on 434000.

Please note that waiting times may be longer than normal due to the increased volume of calls. If your service request or transaction is not urgent, please wait until our systems are restored.

We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
