Waynesburg U. ranked a 2026 Best Value Small College by SmartAsset

Waynesburg University was recently included in SmartAsset's 2026 list of "America's Best Value Small Colleges and Universities," recognizing the University's continued commitment to affordability and strong student outcomes. Waynesburg was one of just seven Pennsylvania institutions to earn a place on the list and ranked 31st nationwide.

The annual study evaluated more than 1,000 colleges and universities across the country with undergraduate enrollments of fewer than 5,000 students. Using data from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard, SmartAsset identified 527 institutions with costs of attendance below the median for similarly sized schools and ranked the top 75 based on a composite score measuring graduation rates and median earnings 10 years after first enrollment.

According to SmartAsset, Waynesburg's ranking reflects its balance of affordability, student success and long-term career outcomes. The University's three most recent alumni career surveys showed an average of 98% of graduates either employed or pursuing graduate education within one year of graduation.

"This recognition speaks to the meaningful return on investment a Waynesburg education provides," said Waynesburg University President Douglas G. Lee. "We remain dedicated to equipping students with the knowledge, character and professional preparation needed to succeed while ensuring that a high-quality, Christ-centered education remains both accessible and impactful for students and their families."
