Paving update for east Lakewood tract

Paving update for east Lakewood tract

Published on February 26, 2026

Lakewood's street repaving project continues Thursday, Feb. 26 in the neighborhood tract bounded by Del Amo and Pioneer Boulevards and Centralia St. and Norwalk Boulevard.

Paving is expected to last approximately two weeks.

Crews will work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There may be short periods when driveways are temporarily inaccessible. Emergency vehicles and all essential services will have access throughout the project.

During construction:

  • There may be some delays when driving through the construction area.
  • Trash pickup will continue as usual.
  • Regular street sweeping will pause during paving (Feb. 26-March 12). Temporary "No Parking" signs will show where restrictions apply, and contractor Hardy & Harper will sweep the area once a week.
  • Please avoid running water onto the street while crews are working.
  • Please follow all posted "No Parking" signs to help the work move smoothly.

The repaving project uses transportation-dedicated dollars funded by a mixture of sources (Proposition C, Measure R and Measure M exchanged funding), ensuring no impact on the city's general fund. This approach continues Lakewood's unique pledge to repave 100% of its streets-an achievement already reached once and now sustained through ongoing reinvestment in the community's infrastructure.
