National Night Out Returns To Binghamton Parks This Week

- BPD To Join Community Members For Food, Festivities -

(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) - Mayor Jared M. Kraham on Sunday announced National Night Out will return to four Binghamton parks this week.

Mayor Kraham said: "National Night Out is a great opportunity for families to come together with local law enforcement for an evening of food and fun. This is community policing at its core - aimed at cultivating positive relationships between our police officers and the community, especially our young people, and working together to build safer neighborhoods. My thanks to Rev. Henry Ausby, local neighborhood watch groups and all the volunteers who make this event possible."

This year's National Night Out program will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4 starting at 5 p.m. at the following City parks:

• Center City Park

• Cheri A. Lindsey Memorial Park

• Fairview Park

• Recreation Park

Members of the Binghamton Police Department will join community members for free food, games and activities. Free backpacks and school supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Fairview Park.

National Night Out is held each August in communities across the country. A community-building program that brings residents and law enforcement together, its goal is to strengthen partnerships and improve public safety.
