Bridge being removed, replaced on Park County Road 3XQ between Meeteetse and Burlington

A $2.966 million Park County bridge replacement project has started between Meeteetse and Burlington, and traffic is using a detour.

RoamMT, LLC of Belgrade, Mont., is the prime contractor on the Park County Road 3XQ project at milepost 0.953, near the Park County/Big Horn County line on Park County Road 3LE (Lower Greybull River Road).

Park County Road 3XQ is closed at the bridge over the Greybull River while the structure is being replaced, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Todd Frost of Cody.

"The detour route will be on Park County Road 3LE (Lower Greybull River Road), Big Horn County Road 5 and Big Horn County Lane 40," Frost said. "This detour route will have temporary detour signs and will be maintained and plowed by Park County."

Traffic began using the detour route last week in anticipation of removing the existing bridge.

Contract completion date is Sept. 30, 2027.
