Foreign Ministry Statement on the Situation in the Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deep concern over the ongoing situation in the Middle East and urgently calls on all parties to prioritize diplomatic channels and refrain from the use of force in order to preserve peace and stability in the region.

In accordance with our constitutional foreign policy principles and our country's enduring commitment to peace, we urge all parties to avoid further escalation of the conflict, the humanitarian consequences of which - for the civilian population and global stability alike - would be severe. We reiterate the need to resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation.

Our embassies in the Middle East remain on alert and in ongoing contact with the Mexican nationals residing or traveling in the region, in order to provide any consular assistance they may need.
