The annual Summit is a high-profile gathering for general managers of clubs that have earned Distinguished Club status - the only merit-based designation program for the private club industry. It's designed as a peer-led, networking and education event where general managers and club leaders share real-world strategies for improving the member experience.

The summit commenced on October 6 with an educational program and dinner at BallenIsles, followed by six club tour visits to other prominent private clubs in the area on October 7. This annual event serves as a platform for private club leaders and industry professionals to collaborate, share innovative ideas, and explore the evolving landscape of the private club industry.

Key themes of the summit included the importance of innovation, collaboration, and adapting to the changing expectations of club members. Presentations from industry leaders emphasized the value of sharing knowledge, exploring new ideas, and learning from the experiences of other clubs. The event also highlighted the significance of authentic hospitality, strong leadership, and creating meaningful experiences that extend beyond facilities and amenities.

"The Club could not be more proud and excited to have welcomed such a distinguished group of industry leaders to support BoardRoom Magazine and Distinguished Clubs in sharing idea generation and collective growth," said BallenIsles Country Club General Manager and CEO Ryan Walls.

Notable speakers at the summit included John Fornaro, Co-Founder/Publisher/CEO of BoardRoom Magazine and Distinguished Clubs; lifestyle and event designer Colin Cowie; Kurt Kuebler of Kopplin Kuebler & Wallace along with Dana Garnamy, Founder and Executive Chairman of Troon, were also honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards; and club leaders representing distinguished private clubs and organizations across the United States and internationally. Their insights provided attendees with valuable perspectives on leadership, hospitality, and club operations.

"We are incredibly grateful to Ryan and his team for delivering an absolutely outstanding full-day event and evening gala. The flawless execution and meticulous management exceeded the expectations of all 160 general managers and industry leaders in attendance. Every detail was handled with the utmost professionalism and care, allowing us to fully enjoy the day," said Fornaro. "The club's amenities were outstanding, the food was five-star, and the evening was capped off with the best fireworks display any of us had ever experienced.

At Distinguished Clubs, we are truly grateful for the team's hard work, dedication, and exceptional hospitality. Your members should know how fortunate they are to have such an outstanding management team and staff. We know this firsthand, as we visit approximately 450 private clubs each year."
