Help Develop the Vision for Rebecca Howard Park - Survey Close Date Extended!
Rebecca Howard Park, named for a 19th-century Black business owner and community leader, is being designed as a public space to honor Olympia's Black history and stories. If you missed the in-person meeting on April 12, we still want your input! Please take the survey on Engage Olympia (sign-in required) to share your thoughts on project goals, storytelling techniques, and design concepts. A short 6-minute video is available to guide you through the three design alternatives. Survey closes Wed, May 14.

Squaxin Park Partial Closure for Tree Removal
From Tues, May 20 through Wed, May 21, Parks staff will be performing hazard tree work in Squaxin Park. The east side of the park, including the northbound entrance/exit and bridge over East Bay Drive, will be closed to vehicle traffic from the morning hours until afternoon, reopening by 4:00 PM on Tuesday and Noon on Wednesday. Pedestrians and bike traffic may enter the park, and are asked to use caution and pay special attention to Parks staff in the area of the park bridge, Rose Garden, and maintenance shops. The southbound entrance, lower (west) parking lots, and Flora Vista trailhead parking, as well as all walking trails, will remain open and unaffected.
