HACU-member scholarship available for Spanish language faculty at community colleges

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) are accepting applications from Spanish language faculty at HACU-member institution community colleges for UCLM's Spanish language teaching program taking place March 8 -14, 2026, in Toledo, Spain, enhancing Spanish language instruction. Scholarships for 30 applicants are available.

The program, "New Perspectives for Teaching Spanish for Medical Professionals: Theory, Practice, and Classroom Resources," is for community college instructors of Spanish for medical professionals, providing materials and resources for current healthcare communication needs and medical Spanish instruction. This opportunity is for faculty who are considering UCLM and Toledo, Spain, as a destination for study abroad students.

Visiting faculty will experience UCLM language teaching methodologies while exploring Toledo, the birthplace of the Spanish language. UCLM is considered a campus of international excellence and is ranked among the top 250 institutions in the Young University Ranking 2024.

Accommodations with breakfast and lunch for six nights is provided, as well as a Sunday presentation and Manchegan dinner in Consuegra. Medical insurance, airfare and transportation to and from Toledo are not covered.
