IU Kokomo hosts annual golf outing

KOKOMO, Ind. - More than 100 people enjoyed a day at the Wildcat Creek Golf Course, benefiting Indiana University Kokomo, at the campus's annual golf outing Thursday (July 30).

Tara Scott, assistant director of development, was pleased to fill the event with 36 teams.

"We are so thankful to our sponsors for their commitment to our campus and our athletes," she said. "We couldn't do what we do without all of them."

Heather Hayes, director of athletics, welcomed the golfers to the event and gave an update on the campus's 15 varsity sports.

Matthew Porter, chief racing officer for presenting sponsor Droplight, also thanked participants, mentioning that he and founder Phil Williams are both IU Kokomo alumni.

The team representing Cossell Insurance won first place. A team led by Josh Maggard was second, with Reuben Cummings's team in third.

Presenting sponsor was Droplight.

Quality Plumbing & Heating was the beverage cart sponsor. Rozzi's Catering was the lunch sponsor, with Frito Lay, Community Howard Regional Health, and Casey's Peru as snack bag sponsors.
