Robbery (Carjacking) – Arrest: C25-0815

On January 6, 2025 at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report from a 37-year-old female victim regarding a robbery carjacking incident in the 600 block of Elgin Avenue. She reported her 2017 Dodge Caravan was stolen around 5:00 a.m. by a 20-year-old female suspect armed with a machete. The victim and the suspect are known to each other, and the victim was not injured during the robbery.

On January 7, 2025, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers observed the suspect operating the stolen vehicle in the 900 block of Winnipeg Avenue. Officers attempts to stop the vehicle; however, the suspect drove away at a high rate of speed. With the assistance of Air-1, the stolen vehicle was located and the suspect taken into custody in the rear lane of 600 Bannatyne Avenue.

Autumn BEARDY, 20 yrs, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 2
  • Public Mischief
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

She was detained in custody.
