These tours provide attendees with the chance to gain hands-on experience with sustainability education, green operational practices and green building techniques, all while experiencing the local community's commitment to sustainability. Check out our tours below:

Green building and resilience

Start the day at the University of Central Florida's LEED Gold Dr. Philips Academic Commons (DPAC), which showcases ways that high-performing, sustainable education spaces can enhance student learning and well-being. After exploring DPAC's innovative design and features, attendees will learn about the City of Orlando's climate resilience plan with visits to the nearby McQuigg Urban Farm, Luminary Green Park and mobile resilience hub.

Innovations in net zero energy schools

Discover NeoCity Academy, a net zero energy public school, where nature and technology merge to create a high-performance learning environment designed to serve as a teaching tool. From expansive on-site solar power to interactive building system displays, attendees will gain valuable insights into net zero energy school design, operation and performance from the design team, school leaders and students.

Sustainability education in action

Join us for an engaging exploration of Education for Sustainability (EfS). The experience begins with a guided tour of the award-winning Arbor Ridge K-8 School, showcasing its innovative approaches to fostering a schoolwide culture of sustainability. Following the tour, participants will engage in a hands-on EfS workshop for curriculum development, facilitated by The Cloud Institute at the University of Central Florida's LEED-certified facility.
