WASHINGTON-U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) recognized Sushaan Kandukoori, Jackson Miller, Avaneesh Parvathareddy, and Grishma Madukuri of Stanton College Preparatory School as the winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge (CAC). Their mobile app, called "TruthSnap," uses artificial intelligence to instantly verify the accuracy of video content without requiring users to leave the platform they are already using.
"The Fourth District is home to many innovative and talented students, and I am amazed by the ingenuity displayed at this year's competition. Sushaan, Jackson, Avaneesh, and Grishma channeled their creativity using sophisticated coding software to solve a real-world problem. I'm proud of their hard work, vision, and commitment to using technology to make a difference in their community," said Congressman Bean.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
These students were inspired by the rise in fake videos and the need for media literacy. By combining strong technical skills with thoughtful problem-solving, the team created a tool that empowers users to make informed decisions and promotes greater digital literacy. Their work is a clear example of how student innovation can drive real-world impact and strengthen our communities.
The CAC highlights the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education, allowing students to hone their coding and technology skills. Middle and high school students from the Fourth District are eligible to compete in this annual competition.
This year's winners will have their app displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building, featured on the House of Representatives' website, and will be invited to a celebratory reception on Capitol Hill in honor of their achievement.
