On 30 June 2026, in Washington, D.C., the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with, Founder and Chairman of the Central Asia - Caucasus Institute Mr. Frederick Starr.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the preservation and study of the historical and cultural heritage of Central Asia, as well as prospects for expanding scientific and academic cooperation.
Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin briefed Professor Starr on the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, to establish the Aryan Civilization Center and the International Navruz Center in Dushanbe. It was emphasized that these centers would contribute to the advancement of international academic cooperation, the promotion of the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Tajik people, and a deeper study and understanding of the Central Asian region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen scientific cooperation through joint research projects, participation in international academic conferences, and the expansion of institutional ties between the scientific community of Tajikistan and leading international research centres. The Minister also invited Professor Frederick Starr to visit the Republic of Tajikistan to continue the constructive academic dialogue and enhance cooperation with the country's scientific community.
