C.J. Jones named to the All-Peach Belt first team

AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University men's basketball sophomore guard C.J. Jones has been named to the All-Peach Belt Conference first team.

Jones, who is from Suwanee, Georgia, is the first Bobcat named to an all-conference team since 2023-24 and the first first-team selection since Jordan Thomas was named during the 2021-22 season.

Jones, who has started all 25 games he has played, leads the Bobcats and is ninth in the Peach Belt in scoring (16.6). Jones led the Bobcats in field goals made (140), three-point field goals made (40), free throw shooting (.884, 76-of-86), assists (79) and steals (26) The free throw shooting is second-best in the PBC and ranked 25th nationally in NCAA Division II.

Jones was named the league's Player of the Week Dec. 14 after he scored a career-high 42 points in an 99-91 overtime win over Augusta University. The 42 points was the second most by a GCSU men's basketball player in program history as well as the ninth most in PBC history. The 42 points by Jones is also the 13th most scored by a Division II men's basketball player this season.

The Bobcats return to action Wednesday (March 4) when they travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, to face the University of North Georgia in a 7:30 p.m. quarterfinal game of the 2026 Peach Belt Tournament.
