CommUniversity Day Returns to Stony Brook on Saturday, September 26

Stony Brook University's annual CommUniversity Day celebration - an event that invites the local community to experience the university and Stony Brook Medicine in numerous interactive ways - will be held Saturday, September 26, from 12 pm to 4 pm.

The free public event will take place on the Academic Mall on the university's West Campus, and will feature more than 120 departments and community partners.

Introduced in 2017, CommUniversity Day connects Stony Brook students, faculty, staff and employees with members of the surrounding community for a day of fun, learning and exploration.

CommUniversity Day features several "neighborhoods" that highlight different programs and interests at Stony Brook. These neighborhoods include Arts, Community, Food, Health, Safety, Tech & Discovery and Traditions, each with its own unique array of events and activities.

Programming highlights include the always popular LEGO®competition and the Rubber Duck Race. New exhibitors this year include the Geosciences and Anatomical Sciences departments, as well as the American Chemical Society.

Stony Brook Children's Pediatric Injury Prevention team will once again lead the Teddy Bear Clinic, where participants will learn to triage a stuffed teddy bear. Other new partners to this year's event include the Autism and Neurodiversity Lab, which will have sensory bins on-site, as well as Camp of Ques, one of Stony Brook University's Alumni Affinity Groups.

Attendees will receive a Stony Brook-branded tote bag and a new CommUniversity button, while supplies last.
