Norman Police Investigate Fatal Collision on Franklin Road

The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of an injury collision involving a Norman Public Schools bus and a pick-up truck on Franklin Road between 84th and 108th Ave NE at approximately 12:21 p.m. today.

The initial investigation indicates that the pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Franklin Road when the driver crossed left of center colliding head-on with the school bus which was traveling eastbound.

The pick-up truck was occupied by an adult male and an adult female. Both were determined to be deceased at the scene from injuries sustained during the collision.

The school bus was occupied by two adults and three children. The two adults were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The three children were not injured during the collision. The caregivers of all involved children have been notified.

The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
