One Year of Chaos, Extremism, Dysfunction, and Failure Under Speaker Mike Johnson
Today marks the one-year anniversary of Mike Johnson's ascent to the Speakership, which has been marred by chaos, dysfunction, and far-right extremism.
Under Mike Johnson, House Republicans have repeatedly endorsed or actively tried to legislate Project 2025's least popular schemes during the 118th Congress: restricting abortion rights, raising taxes on the middle class, and cutting taxes for big corporations. Johnson also led House Republican efforts to kill the bipartisan border deal at the direction of Donald Trump.
His failures have enabled the MAGA circus to throw the House into total dysfunction, failing to lower costs, help working families, or grow the middle class - and securing this Congress's reputation as the least productive since the Great Depression.
