The pedestrian who died following an October 29th crash in the Hazelwood Neighborhood has been identified as Don A. Edney, 59. His family has been notified of his death.

Pedestrian Dies Following Crash in Hazelwood Neighborhood

A pedestrian has died following a crash in the Hazelwood Neighborhood of Northeast Portland.

On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct responded to reports of a pedestrian struck in the area of Northeast Glisan Street and Northeast 122nd Avenue. When they arrived, officers located an adult male who had been struck by a vehicle. The individual was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates the male was crossing Northeast 122nd Avenue in a wheelchair when the incident happened. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., hospital staff contacted PPB to state the male victim had died. PPB's Major Crash Team was notified.
