AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire Earns 4 out of 5 in NCQA’s 2026 Medicaid Health Plan Ratings

MANCHESTER, N.H. - AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire earned an overall rating of 4 out of 5 in NCQA's Medicaid Health Plan Ratings 2026, tying for the highest overall rating among New Hampshire Medicaid health plans. The plan improved from its overall rating of 3.5 out of 5 in 2025.

NCQA's annual Health Plan Ratings evaluate health plans based on clinical quality, member experience, and NCQA Accreditation status.

AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire, an NCQA-Accredited Medicaid health plan, demonstrated strong results in blood-pressure control for members with diabetes and across several behavioral health and substance-use measures. Areas of strength included follow-up care after emergency department visits and high-intensity treatment, continued care for children prescribed ADHD medication, and engagement in substance-use-disorder treatment.

The plan's efforts to support members in areas reflected in these results included initiatives to:

  • Host community baby showers that connect expectant parents and families with information, supplies, and local resources.
  • Help members access behavioral health services and community resources through outreach, education, and care navigation.

"This improvement reflects the work of our associates, providers, and community partners to help Granite Staters get the care and support they need," said Rob Slattery, Market President of AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire. "We are encouraged by the progress in this year's rating and will keep working to improve access, quality, and the member experience across the communities we serve."

The plan received a Patient Experience rating of 4 out of 5, the highest among New Hampshire Medicaid health plans, based on members' reported experiences with their health plan and care.
