Contra Costa County & Marin County - Caltrans will conduct overnight maintenance on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580), closing Lane #2 and the Bike path on the westbound upper deck Friday, January 9, 2026, and Saturday, January 10, 2026, 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, nightly. This closure will span the entire length of the bridge, while westbound Lane #1 will remain open. The Bike path will also be closed, Bike shuttles will be provided for those impacted by these closures 9:00 PM through 5:00 AM on Friday, January 9th and Saturday, January 10th.

Closure Details:

  • Westbound I-580, Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Lane #2 and Bike Lane will be Closed Friday 1/9 and Saturday 1/10, 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers of closure. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, and plan extra travel time.
