Slow Moving Vehicle Operations on the Gold Star Memorial Bridge in New London and Groton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that on I-95 Northbound Gold Star Bridge in New London, slow moving vehicle operations will be starting on Sunday, December 21 and be completed on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. This slow-moving vehicle operation required for Geotechnical Subsurface Investigations, otherwise known as GPR. The work will be performed related to the rehabilitation of the Gold Star Bridge No. 03819.

This project is being performed by Advanced Infrastructure Design, Inc.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

While no lane closures are involved, the operation involves scanning with a slow-moving vehicle traveling each lane and each shoulder twice. State Police escort will be on site if available.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
