As global and national security issues continue to dominate news headlines, the University of South Florida is offering faculty experts who can discuss a variety of topics, such as the U.S.'s interest in acquiring Greenland, the current situation in Venezuela, unrest in Iran and political violence.

Steven Roach, professor of international relations: Roach is an expert in global governance, critical international theory and global ethics and warfare. He can discuss aspects of the current U.S. administration's interest in acquiring Greenland.
Robert Burrell, senior research fellow, Global and National Security Institute: Burrell is an expert on U.S. history, military science and international relations. He can discuss how the decades-long conflict in Venezuela recently came to the forefront of international attention following the U.S. military extraction of dictator Nicolas Maduro and the complexities of his drug indictment in New York.
Arman Mahmoudian, research fellow, Global and National Security Institute: Mahmoudian's research focuses on the Middle East, specifically Iran's regional policy and the role of non-state actors in the region. He can also discuss Russia's foreign policy, with a focus on Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.
Mohsen Milani, professor of politics, executive director of the Center for Strategic & Diplomatic Studies: Milani is a leading expert on Iranian politics, U.S.-Middle East relations and regional security, with decades of academic and policy experience.
Golfo Alexopoulos, professor and director of the USF Institute for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies: Alexopoulos, who lived in the Soviet Union and Russia, can discuss Russian politics and society, modern Europe and the Soviet Union. She can also speak to world conflicts, dictatorships/authoritarianism, war, genocide and human rights.
Kyle Burke, assistant professor of history: Burke is a leading history professor who can discuss a host of topics, including U.S history and politics since 1945, America's evolving role in international security, as well as NATO past and present. He also specializes in the U.S. military's global reach and influence and can discuss current geopolitical issues involving Greenland and Venezuela.
Darryl Paulson, professor emeritus of government: Paulson is well-versed in Florida politics, having spent several decades teaching and studying the subject. As a Minnesota native, he can also speak to issues facing the state and has studied U.S. elections and political violence.
