Following a Big Ten battle, College Football at Cosm is steadily approaching the halfway point of the 2026 season.

Saturday at Cosm kicked off with a ranked matchup. Fans were transported to the Hawkeye State to witness Ohio State deal Iowa their first loss of the season.

The Hawkeyes entered the matchup with home-field advantage and a solid defensive line poised to pull off the upset against the Buckeyes. Despite the storylines, Ohio State and their star players entered the matchup with an intensity that became hard to control.

Heisman favorite wide receiver Jeremiah Smith delivered another dominant performance on the field. Smith caught 11 passes for 206 yards from quarterback Julian Sayin and scored two touchdowns.

Ohio State's dominant performance paired with Iowa's conservative offense contributed to a 31-14 loss that dropped the Hawkeyes six spots in the AP Top 25.

In Week 6, College Football at Cosm pivots back to the Southeastern Conference for the Red River Rivalry and a Southern showdown to follow.

This Week In College Football at Cosm

#1 Texas (4-0) vs. Oklahoma (2-2)

Last Meeting: Texas (23-6) Oklahoma (2025)

For the 121st time, No. 1 Texas and Oklahoma meet for the Allstate Red River Rivalry. The two teams head to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas for one of college football's most storied matchups.

This time around, both teams are having very different seasons. They may share a lack of consistency on the offensive line, but No. 1 Texas has established itself as the top team in College Football, and Oklahoma has done the opposite.

If the Longhorns hope to remain undefeated, Arch Manning and the rest of the offense will need to lock in. The Sooners will have to lean on their otherwise solid defense to turn the page and take back their season.

The good news? The Red River Rivalry ignores history, and it's anyone's game.

Coming off a bye week, both teams should be well-rested and ready to attack this split-stadium matchup. With a top-ranked team on one side, an unranked team on the other, and a rivalry that runs deep, fans won't want to miss the action.

Experience the intensity of the Red River Rivalry at any of Cosm's four venues.

#2 Georgia (5-0) vs. #6 Alabama (5-0)

Last Meeting: Georgia (28-7) Alabama (2025)

Saturday at Cosm comes with another SEC showdown in The Dome.

This time, No. 2 Georgia heads to Tuscaloosa to face No. 6 Alabama in a Top-10 matchup. And stakes are high in the Southeastern Conference, with both teams looking to avoid their first loss of the season.

Through the first half of the season, the Bulldogs have played well. They are consistently difficult to move the ball against, strong offensively, and have a confident quarterback in veteran Gunner Stockton.

The same can be said about the Crimson Tide, who have been dominant in their own right. Behind quarterback Keelon Russell, Alabama's offensive line has significantly improved from last season, posing a challenge for Georgia's strong defense.

Ultimately, this game between two of the SEC's best programs comes down to who plays better football. Come Saturday, only one will remain undefeated.

Learn A New Tradition

Red River Rivalry: The Golden Hat

It's no ordinary gameday in Dallas. It's the Allstate Red River Rivalry.

This SEC showdown doubles as one of college football's most storied matchups, rich in competition, history, and traditions.

It's early October, and the stage is set. Fans flood the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, and there's a visible distinction. The stadium is split evenly down the 50-yard line, creating a separation between burnt orange and crimson.

The annual rivalry game kicks off, and after four quarters, one team comes out victorious. The intensity of this deep-running rivalry is one worthy of a trophy-or more like three trophies: The Golden Hat, the Governor's Cup, and the Red River Rivalry Trophy.

The Longhorns and the Sooners are playing to win the rivalry's ultimate symbol: the Golden Hat. This coveted gold-plated cowboy hat, mounted on a wooden base, is awarded to the winning team immediately after the game ends, and they keep it until the next annual matchup at the Cotton Bowl.

The awards don't stop there. They extend to local government, where the Governor's Cup passes between the governors of Texas and Oklahoma. This trophy comes with a friendly political wager, adding another competitive layer to the already heated rivalry.

And finally, the Red River Rivalry Trophy is the third trophy exchanged between the student bodies of the respective universities based on who wins that year's rivalry game.

This rivalry goes beyond bragging rights, as there's always more at stake in the Allstate Red River Rivalry.
