Secretary-General of ASEAN to Deliver Keynote Speech at the Symposium on economic resilience strategy for Japan and ASEAN in Tokyo, Japan

At the invitation of the President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Professor Tetsuya Watanabe, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will deliver a Keynote Speech at the Symposium on economic resilience strategy for Japan and ASEAN, to be held in Tokyo, Japan, on 6 March 2026. Convened under the theme 'Towards a Prosperous Indo-Pacific,' the symposium will gather political leaders, policymakers, business representatives, and academia to exchange perspectives on strengthening the ASEAN-Japan partnership as well as advancing practical avenues for future collaboration, including coordinated industrial development and supply chain resilience.

On the sidelines of the Symposium, SG Dr. Kao is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with cabinet members from the Government of Japan and engage with members of the business community to reaffirm ASEAN's commitment to regional economic cooperation and to further deepen ASEAN-Japan collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including supply chain resilience and industrial cooperation.
