Fullerton, CA - Today, U.S. Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) presented a $250,000 check to the City of Fullerton for critical infrastructure upgrades to Fullerton fire stations. Specifically, the funding will go toward modernizing and upgrading the station alerting infrastructure, replacing the current roll-up doors with lateral opening doors, and replacing the existing steel hose towers at all citywide stations with modern, mechanical hose towers.
"Fire departments serve on the front lines of many of the worst tragedies that communities face, which is why it is incredibly important that we make sure that they are well equipped to handle a wide range of crises," said Rep. Lou Correa. "This investment in our beloved and respected first responders is an investment in the safety of all the people who live, work, and travel within Fullerton. Firefighters not only put their lives on the line for their neighbors, but also keep the city afloat and moving. I am proud to have secured this federal funding for the Fullerton Fire Department, and I look forward to seeing the improvements that the City implements."
This funding will enhance department response capabilities and times, reduce maintenance cost, and allow for safer operational environments-ultimately improving safety in the community. This federal investment is part of the FY2026 community project funding that Rep. Correa secured for California's 46th Congressional District, which totaled more than $13.3 million overall.
"Public safety is one of our highest priorities, and this federal investment from the Community Development Fund makes a real impact for the firefighters who serve Fullerton and the residents who depend on them. We are grateful for Congressman Correa's partnership and his commitment to our community," said Fullerton Mayor Fred Jung.
"The community we serve depends on dispatch infrastructure that meets the standards of a modern fire department," said Fullerton Fire Chief Adam Loeser. "This funding allows us to strengthen a critical link in our emergency response and maintain the reliability that Fullerton residents expect when they call for help."
