NNSA issues a Request for Proposals for the Management and Operation of the Savannah River Site

WASHINGTON - The Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Management and Operating (M&O) contract of the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The current M&O contract with Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC expires on September 30, 2026. There is one 12-month option remaining in the contract (October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027).  

The RFP contemplates a standalone performance-based, M&O contract. The base contract period will be a five-year term (after completion of the four-month transition period). Additionally, the contract has six option periods as follows: one, five-year option period; one, three-year option period; three, two-year option periods; and one, one-year option period. The contract's maximum period of performance, including the transition period and option period(s), if exercised, is 20 years and four-months for an estimated value of $61.5 billion over the potential period.

Sam.gov and FedConnect will be the primary sites for posting information about this requirement. A dedicated webpage has also been established for the SRS competition: https://www.energy.gov/nnsa/savannah-river-site-management-and-operating-mo-contract-competition. NNSA will use this website as a secondary location, as it may take a few days to post information to this site.
