(PEORIA, IL) On Friday, November 7, 2025, at approximately 2:59 a.m., Peoria Police responded to a report of a male causing a disturbance in the 700 block of Wayne Street.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with an adult female who reported that a male, later identified as 39-year-old Donald R. Criss, had engaged in a verbal altercation with a 36-year-old female. The victim stated that after she went inside the residence, Criss forcibly entered and struck her in the head with a handgun. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers located Criss inside the residence and took him into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the residence resulted in the recovery of a loaded handgun.
Criss was arrested for Home Invasion, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Aggravated Battery. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
