Cedars-Sinai endocrinologists will present new research and clinical advances at ENDO 2026, June 13-16, in Chicago.
The Endocrine Society, which organizes the annual meeting, is a global medical society dedicated to discovering the causes and effective treatments to care for patients with hormone disorders.
Cedars-Sinai is a leader in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism research and clinical care. Experts attending the conference are available to discuss a wide variety of subjects, including cortisol regulation, pituitary gland disorders, puberty, adrenal function, neuroendocrine-disrupting tumors, and growth hormones.
Cedars-Sinai Presentations at ENDO 2026
Cortisol, Blood Sugar and Fatigue
Michelle L. Koh, MD , an endocrinologist and research fellow in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in Cedars-Sinai's Department of Medicine, will present new findings linking overnight low blood sugar to persistent fatigue in adults with adrenal cortisol insufficiency despite hormone replacement therapy.
Amino Acids and Type 2 Diabetes Risk
In a second oral presentation, Koh will share study results revealing how 20 amino acids may influence the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by affecting insulin sensitivity, secretion and clearance.
Prostate Enlargement
Vera Chesnokova, PhD , a professor of Research in the Department of Medicine, will detail study results suggesting prolactin produced within the prostate, a hormone best known for stimulating breast milk production, may contribute to age-related prostate enlargement.
Pituitary Adenomas
Shinsuke Onuma, MD, PhD, a postdoctoral scientist in the Ruf-Zamojski Lab , will present research identifying cellular signaling pathways that may help improve the diagnosis and treatment of nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas that often go undetected for years. Study leader Frederique Ruf-Zamojski, PhD, an associate professor of Research in the departments of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, also is available to discuss the findings.
Craniopharyngioma
Odelia Cooper, MD , professor of Medicine, and director of the Clinical and Translational Research Center, will present research linking distinct protein and metabolic profiles in craniopharyngioma, a rare brain tumor, to differences in disease presentation and management. Cooper will also lead a discussion on recent advances in the diagnosis and management of posterior pituitary pathology.
Central Precocious Puberty
Roma Gianchandani, MD , vice chair of Quality and Innovation in the Department of Medicine and program director for Diabetes, will lead a session on the Endocrine Society's updated guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of central precocious puberty.
How the Pituitary Responds to Low Cortisol
Anat Ben-Shlomo, MD , associate professor in the Department of Medicine and co-director of the Multidisciplinary Adrenal Program, will present findings from a laboratory mouse study that show how the pituitary gland maintains hormone production during prolonged cortisol deficiency.
Growth Hormones and the Adrenal Gland
Deepika Watts, PhD, research associate in the Melmed Lab, will present results of a study identifying a growth hormone-related receptor in the adrenal gland that may influence its growth, function and disease. Study leader Anat Ben-Shlomo, MD is also available to comment on the findings.
