The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, is in Milan on a working visit, accompanied by his spouse, Tamar Bagrationi, and an official delegation. During the visit, he will attend the opening ceremony of the 25th Winter Olympic Games.

An official welcoming ceremony for the President of Georgia was held at Milan Linate International Airport.

As part of the visit, President Kavelashvili will meet with the Georgian Olympic delegation participating in XXV Winter Olympic Games and will attend the team figure skating event to support Georgian athletes.

Prior to the opening ceremony of XXV Winter Olympic Games, the President of Georgia will attend an official dinner hosted on behalf of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in honor of the heads of foreign states attending the opening of the Games.

The President of Georgia will also attend a dinner hosted by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry.

The main opening ceremony event will take place at the San Siro Olympic Stadium in Milan.

Georgia will be represented at the Winter Olympic Games by eight athletes competing in two disciplines: figure skating and alpine skiing.
