Palm Beach Atlantic University Students Rock Out at End of Year Showcase

Strobing lights, fog machines, and the sound of electric guitars filled the Rinker Playhouse at The Kravis Center for Performing Arts on April 16, 2026, as Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) students performed "Sail Away: A Rock Odyssey." The concert featured students from PBA's pop-rock ensemble performing covers of famous rock-and-roll songs they have been perfecting all semester.

The Heart of Modern Music

The concert's program was designed by Professor of Commercial Music Sean Radford. Radford teaches one of the two pop-rock ensembles at PBA and strives to help his students capture the sound and feeling of contemporary music.

"These guys have worked really hard, and they've got a show for you," Radford said before students took to the stage.

Students in the ensemble ranged from freshmen just beginning to master their musical talents to seniors preparing to graduate from the popular music industry or music in worship leadership programs at PBA in just a few weeks.

"I just want to say thank you to all the PBA students, faculty, and staff who have made these four years so special," PBA senior Yanel Quinteros said.

A Journey through Rock and Roll

The concert featured 15 songs divided into two massive sets, with hardly any breaks between performances. The selection spanned decades of rock history, covering everything from The Beatles to Bon Jovi.

Audience members were treated to upbeat party tunes, followed by heartfelt ballads, and ultimately encored with iconic rock anthems. "Livin' on a Prayer," "The Final Countdown," "Free Bird," and "Jump" were just a few of the standout songs on the setlist.

"I'm just so glad everyone is here tonight, and without further ado, let's sail away," PBA senior Emmie Turner said.
