UToledo Prepares to Celebrate Spring Graduates



It's graduation season at The University of Toledo, which will celebrate graduates from the Class of 2026 during spring commencement ceremonies starting on Friday, May 1, at John F. Savage Arena on UToledo's Main Campus.

The University will confer more than 2,100 degrees and graduate certificates at multiple ceremonies steeped in proud Rocket tradition, including 129 doctoral, 432 master's, 1416 bachelor's and 76 associate's degrees during the first weekend of May.

The doctoral hooding and graduate commencement is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, May 1, followed by two undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 2.

May 1-2 Ceremony Details
The doctoral hooding and graduate commencement is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, May 1, followed by two undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 2.

The morning May 2 ceremony begins at 9 a.m. and will recognize graduating students from the Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education, the College of Engineering, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The afternoon May 2 undergraduate ceremony begins at 2 p.m. and will honor graduating students in the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, College of Health and Human Services, and University College.

Due to capacity and fire code regulations, tickets are required for admission to these commencement ceremonies.

Law and Medicine

In addition, the UToledo College of Law will celebrate 82 graduating students Sunday, May 10, at 1 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Auditorium, and the College of Medicine and Life Sciences will honor 209 graduating students on Friday, May 15, at 2 p.m. in Savage Arena.

UToledo Law graduate Brian Goldberg, class of 1985, will deliver the keynote address at the May 10 College of Law ceremony. Since starting his own practice concentrating on baseball player contract representation, Goldberg has represented numerous Major League Baseball players, including retired Hall of Fame outfielder Ken Griffey, Jr.

The commencement speaker for the May 15 College of Medicine ceremony is Dr. David J. Skorton, president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and former president of Cornell University and University of Iowa, where he co-founded the Adolescent and Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic. Skorton also served as 13th secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, where he oversaw 19 museums, 21 libraries, the National Zoo and numerous research centers. Skorton will receive an honorary degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa.

Friends and family not holding tickets to ticketed ceremonies or who unable to attend in person can watch via live stream, which will be available online at utoledo.edu/commencement.
