Notable Trends

  • Officers arrested the suspects in two arsons this week. In one case, a witness saw the suspect pour gas on three cars and attempt to light them on fire. He walked away when the lighter wouldn't work and officers located him nearby. They smelled gas on all the cars and found the discarded lighter. One of the suspects arrested for assault was also charged with arson. He barricaded inside a friend's apartment when officers arrived to arrest him for the assault. He then lit it on fire, causing the evacuation of the building for hours. No residents were injured.
  • Officers arrested the suspects or referred charges in all four aggravated assaults reported. In one arrest, the suspect hit the victim on the head with a propane tank. He wasn't located during the initial call and was also arrested for arson when officers later located him. In another case, a patient bit a nurse's arm and another patient threatened to kill the nurses. In another arrest, the suspect attempted to hit the victim multiple times with a baseball bat, striking his hand once. In the last case, the suspect hit the victim multiple times with 2x4 wood. Multiple witnesses reported it and intervened.
  • Three auto thefts reported with two arrests. One was a trailer stolen from a storage unit. Another was a 2024 Subaru stolen from a secured parking garage. Officers located the car later after it was tracked and while waiting for the owner, saw the suspect nearby and arrested him. He was also charged with commercial burglary for sneaking into the secure parking garage, which was caught on camera. In the last case, the suspect damaged multiple vehicles at a maintenance shop, attempted to steal a Ford F-150 and rammed two vehicles during his attempt to steal it. A witness reported the incident, and officers located the suspect nearby when they arrived.
  • One robbery reported where the victim was punched and the suspect stole his necklace. The victim didn't want to provide a lot of details.
