New Jersey Innovation Hub Opens with Ribbon-Cutting at HELIX

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (October 13, 2026) - State and local leaders gathered on October 6 to mark the opening of the New Jersey Innovation Hub.

Spanning three floors in the first completed building of the Health + Life Science Exchange (HELIX) district at 20 French St., the 30,000-square-foot incubator is operated by Portal Innovations. It is designed to provide startups, researchers, and established life sciences companies with flexible laboratory and office space to accelerate commercial research and foster cross-industry partnerships.

The project is a critical anchor for long-term economic development and local career expansion.

"The Innovation Hub brings together researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and emerging companies, providing the resources and opportunities they need to turn promising ideas into real-world solutions," Mayor Jim Cahill said. "Projects like these are about building a stronger local economy, creating new career and job opportunities, and ensuring that the growth taking place in New Brunswick continues to benefit our residents and future generations."

The facility already houses a dynamic network of tenants leveraging its shared infrastructure, cementing New Brunswick's status as a premier regional hub for medical and scientific innovation.
