Franklin County Joins National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children

Franklin County is taking important steps to protect its youth by joining the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (NADEC). This program raises awareness and provides support for children affected by parental or caregiver substance misuse.

Ashlea Confer and Ken Halliburton, members of the Franklin County Substance Use Prevention Coalition (FCSUPC), completed training and are now certified to teach others in the community how to identify and help children affected by substance misuse.

The FCSUPC voted to make Franklin County an official DEC Alliance community. The coalition plans to share this training with schools, churches, and other local organizations, helping community partners work together to support children and families in need.

This initiative shows Franklin County's commitment to creating a safer environment for youth and ensuring the community is ready to respond to the challenges of substance misuse.
