David Boord, a student at GW Law, was selected for the highly competitive Skadden Fellowship, a two-year program that supports recent law graduates pursuing full-time public interest careers. Boord is one of just 34 law students nationwide chosen for the fellowship and will work with the American Civil Liberties Union of Alaska in Anchorage.

Through his fellowship project, Boord will focus on advancing housing rights for low-income, rural Alaskans by combining strategic litigation, policy advocacy and community outreach. His work is informed by prior experience as a legal clerk in Alaska, where he examined how climate change and infrastructure challenges disproportionately affect access to affordable housing, particularly in Native communities.
